					Ms. Kim, a director in the Biotechnology/Chemical Group, counsels on patent portfolio strategy and long-term corporate development. Her practice involves preparation of patent applications and their prosecution and appeals worldwide, reexaminations, interferences before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, and management of foreign oppositions. She provides opinions on, inter alia, patentability, validity and infringement, and conducts due diligences. Ms. Kim has specialized experience in the areas of pharmaceutics, nutraceuticals, biotechnology, immunology, and transgenics. 
Ms. Kim’s scientific experience is in the areas of microbial and mammalian biology. As a graduate student, she studied the regulation of the chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene in Bacillus subtilis. She then worked as a research scientist studying the developmental expression of thyrotropin releasing hormone in mammalian systems. Ms. Kim is a co-author of eleven publications resulting from her scientific research.
Ms. Kim was an editor of the Journal of International Law and Trade. She speaks conversational Korean.
